Sarah is a Swiss-American, multi-media artist
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Sarah studied dance and musical theater from a young age, graduating as a dance-major from Denver School of the Arts. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During her time at university, Sarah performed works by artists including: Alejandro Cerrudo, Kyle Abraham, Bennyroyce Royon, and Ori Flomin. She also choreographed her own works: Welcome, It's Always Been This Way (2015) and Habit (2014), which was selected to perform at the 2015 American College Dance Association conference. After completing her BFA, Sarah performed with Hannah Kahn Dance Company and Apex Dance Company in Denver before relocating to Switzerland.
Now based in Basel, Switzerland, Sarah has worked as a freelance performance artist, dancer, and dance teacher among other odd jobs. She has had the privilege of performing in Alexandra Pirici's Aggregate
installation as part of ART Basel 2019 and Bruce Nauman's Wall/Floor Positions(1969) as part of the Disappearing Acts exhibition at the Schaulager Foundation in 2018. Her time in the Basel "free-scene" and her exposure to performance art have expanded her notion of what movement and dance can be.
Sarah's current interests include writing and poetry, sketching, creative research and improvisational movement. She revels in the possibility of bringing many forms of expression together and exploring how they can intersect without being defined by them.
